Water Storage Tank Maintenance

CPM was on site this week for a valued client in Rockingham. The client advised that their water usage had doubled over the previous billing period and no one could locate the leak. CPM started their investigations around the pumping equipment and in particular the potable water storage tanks. Our technician noticed water passing through the overflow of the tank. The offending tank’s $35.00 tankfill top up ball valve had worn through the sides of the casting allowing water to run constantly, with the overflow discharging constantly to the storm water system.

The technician fitted a new one from the stock in the vehicle, reset the levels and commissioned. This highlights the need to continually inspect and maintain potable water storage tanks and the pump booster systems on the premises.
